Inclusion Opportunities
Our Early Childhood Education program reflects the diversity of children in the community. We believe programming for children with diverse abilities has a positive influence on every child. For that reason, we include children with typical needs and children with special needs in our Early Childhood Education classrooms.
"Inclusion" is children of all abilities learning, playing and working together. Successful inclusion at St. David's Center means that all children have the opportunity to actively participate in a natural preschool setting.
Our inclusion process is tailored to meet the needs of each child and the program. Parents are actively involved by sharing information, such as assessments (e.g., Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), therapies, special education, etc.) and working with staff to develop a program plan so additional support can be put in place if needed. Ongoing assessment and collaboration may be needed during the program year to ensure the inclusion process is a successful experience.
Funding options for inclusion include:
- Hennepin County RCC (Respite Center-based Care)
- State funding
- Private pay (special tuition rates apply)
Please note: If your child has special needs, an alternative enrollment process is required. Before filling out enrollment materials, please contact our Early Childhood Special Needs Coordinator at 952-548-8775 for more information.
Please request assessment information if you have any concerns about your child's development.
