Harman Center Update, Sept 10, 2024

Dear Harman Center Community,

I am writing to inform you of an incident that took place near the Harman Center at the end of your child’s treatment day today, in case you or your child witnessed some of the commotion and have questions.

A police chase in the area around the Harman Center ended with a car crash nearby, with the driver attempting to flee on foot. While the police were managing this situation, a heated exchange started between several adults that was witnessed by some of our children and their parents.

Our staff was present during this exchange, given it was the end of a treatment day. I’m grateful to our team and the police officers on the scene who responded so quickly and so well.  Though the situation was resolved in a timely manner, we recognize incidents like this can be difficult to see, and for children, difficult to understand.
