Highlighting those that make a difference!
Janet, an Administrative Assistant at Comcast, has volunteered at St. David’s Center during Comcast Cares Day for three consecutive years. Giving back to her community, she says, is just a part of her upbringing.
Originally from Ghana, Janet’s family has been organizing community events and helping those around them for as long as she can remember. Now, though, she says it can be difficult to find time to research and schedule her own volunteer opportunities. That’s why she appreciates Comcast Cares Day, where the planning is taken care of, but she still knows she will be able to contribute meaningfully to her community.
No matter the task, Janet can see the impact of her effort. When tasked with spreading mulch around our Big Playground, she noticed how excited our kids were to play, and she was motivated to make their play space as nice as possible.
Janet plans to continue volunteering and serving her community whenever she has the chance. As she says, we only have a short amount of time on earth, so we should try to make an impact while we’re here.
